Catalogue# MCA-37C12: Monoclonal Antibody 37C12 to Nop5p/Nop58p

The Immunogen: Nop5p (a.k.a. Nop58p) and Nop6p. Both Nop5p and Nop6p are localized in the yeast nucleolus along with Nop1p.

The Antibody: Sterile-filtered cell culture fluid from an Integra CL-350 biochamber plus sodium azide. The immunoglobulin subtype and exact concentration of IgG are unknown.

Suggestions for use: MCA-37C12 does not work well for immunoblotting, though it does recognize both yeast Nop5p and Nop6p, both of which are nucleolar proteins. For immunoblotting of Nop5p we recommend the monoclonal MCA-34B12, also available from EnCor. MCA-37C12 is however good for immunofluorescence on yeast cells, and we recommend dilutions in the range of 1/1,000 to 1/10,000. We routinely dilute to 1/2,000. For immunoprecipitations, try 2-4 µl of MCA-37C12 with the amount of lysate derived from 5 OD600 units of yeast culture. Antibody preparation contains 10mM sodium azide preservative (Press here for Material Safety Data Sheet). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing, store at 4°C or -20°C.
